Chemical/Metalurgical InternRio Tinto Feb 2012 - Aug 2012Greater Salt Lake City AreaI designed a testing process which I used to acquire flow rate and flow distribution data to determine the process efficiency in the flotation circuit. By working with plant operators, engineers, and maintenance personnel I was able to complete a large series of tests without process interruption and determine what the plant flow distribution patterns are. I discovered that uneven flow distribution accounted for variation in metal recovery for the past several years and the data I collected lead to a follow up project to improve flow control within the plant. I also designed a detailed PFD of the Flotation area of the plant to be shared with experts touring the facility. -
