Achievements:I lead the Network & Internet Services Department in managing the network and its over 10,000 users on the 3 campuses of the University.I train the staff of the University in the use of IT tools.I led the design, installation and configuration of Windows, Linux, and Solaris Systems.I designed the University’s network and security architecture as there was none on ground before I came in.I have been involved in installations of Network devices such as Switches, Routers, Servers (Windows 2003 & 2008, Ubuntu Server, CentOS, Oracle Solaris).I have also implemented LANs (wired & wireless for the University).I also configure and manage the e-mail system .I have worked in the team developing business strategy for the ICT Directorate. I have led the partial overhauling of the network to increase reliability, coverage and service availability.I led the Information Security Steering Committee to formulate Network Security Policy, ICT Infrastructure Policy, Disaster Recovery Policy (Business Continuity Plan) for the University.I have planned, installed and configured Active Directory services for the University.I introduced Microsoft Sharepoint to the University and have worked with the web administrator in deploying it.I have introduced and planned the implementation of an open source Network Management System and a Network Backup System to save cost were necessary.I led the planning and installation of enterprise Internet Security Suite (ISS) for the university
