1. Ensure lab environmental conditions conform to calibration specifications.2. Attend daily production meeting.3. Supervise sub-ordinates and plan workload.4. Check and maintain an accurate record system of all work performed i.e. Metrology Note Book, Results sheets.5. Check calibration certificates for calibrated and repaired equipment.6. Ensure that internal and external customer queries regarding calibration and repairs are resolved timeously.7. Evaluate, provide estimate and schedule incoming 3rd party work.8. Assist and provide on-job training for subordinates.9. Perform special projects and assist in the manufacturing of test equipment.10. Assist in performing specialized calibrations.11. Timeous verification of master standards traceable to the National and International Standards.12. Perform calibrations of equipment on site.13. Does verification check on new and outsourced equipment, update and register equipment on TSAS database.14. Do quotations for calibrations and repairs on test equipment.15. Assist maintenance personnel on the line with calibratable equipment.16. Accompany and assist in technical audits by various Regulatory Authorities.17. Liaise with other South African National Accredited Systems Laboratory for inter comparison of standards.18. Perform and update records and Work Instruction Manuals.

Supporting Technician on the Floor With Technical Data & Knowledge if Problems Arise. Updating of Component Tracking Program ( MEMIS ).
