Project Accountant· Tasked with improving accounting processes for the business partnering and central finance team. Completing various assignments, including; Building Circulation Profitability report via excel, clearly showing bottom-line picture of each revenue stream and territory. Streamlining monthly posting processes for revenue and costs such as application revenue, sales commissions, and distribution costs.Finance Business Partner· Full responsibility for the monthly management accounts and processes of Tatler, Vanity Fair and Traveller magazines.· Being the ‘go to’ finance staff member for the above three brands. Collaborating with brand teams (publishers/editors), answering any finance-based queries in a timely manner.· Completing all journal postings and balance sheet reconciliations, monthly management packs, presenting the same to the head of finance monthly.· Completing ad-hoc secondary reports for each brand monthly and providing variance analysis compared to forecast.· Managing a junior staff member and being a mentor figure.· Completing quarterly forecasting for the above brands. Meeting with magazine publishers/editors throughout the process to get an accurate picture for the year ahead. Inputting forecast figures into EPM cloud software and reviewing with management.

· Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, completing of month end close ie. posting of all month end journals such as payroll, accruals, capex wages, prepayment releases, gross up journals to forecast etc.· Completion of month end variance pack for management review, commenting on variances compared to forecast.· Review of European market balance sheets for correct accounting treatment such as classification of deferred revenue, prepaid events, and leasing (in accordance with US GAAP reporting under ASC842.· Regular reporting in compliance with SOX. Reporting on accrual/deferral, intercompany and receivable balances for European markets for management review.· Completion of monthly head office forecast pack comparing against budget and actuals.· Consolidation of management cashflow forecast reports from markets for inclusion in monthly forecast submission to US. · Providing support local accounting teams across European market.

•Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals and small to medium sized clients, along with completing ongoing NZ tax obligations on their behalf.•Manage the accounting systems of a client base and developing into key business advisory contact for a number of clients.•Process transactions, complete creditor/debtor reconciliations, and set up creditor payments and payroll for client approval.•Communicate directly with clients to provide debtor statements for their customers and notify them of overdue debtors.•Prepare consolidated financial statements for client groups, specific to client’s needs.•Develop monthly management reports for medium size businesses, providing commentary to track financial performance.•Create Profit and Loss & Balance Sheet Budgets and cash flow projections for a range of clients.•Maintain constant correspondence with the tax department regarding various client tax queries.•Mentor and train junior staff on several accounting compliance protocols required by our clients.
