After graduating with a BA in Spanish & Business Studies, I found myself working in recruitment for a short while before the suit and tie started to itch a little bit.So I swapped corporate life in London for creative life in Kuala Lumpur, joining a creative agency as a Junior Copywriter. And after I’d been given my first creative brief – headlines for an OOH automotive campaign – I was hooked.I spent four years across various departments working on projects for clients in various industries - writing anything from advertising copy and online content to corporate identity and branding guidelines, or getting stuck into scripts and storyboards or social media planning. I had some experience with public relations and account management, supervising internal creative, design and research resources to develop proposals and deliver work on time, on budget and on brief.In fact, I was enjoying creative life so much that I started to carve out a freelance niche on the side, focusing on travel & lifestyle editorial content for various online publications. After leaving the agency, I moved into a project manager role with a lifestyle marketing start-up, covering content & campaign planning for clients in the hospitality & lifestyle industries; influencer marketing, events, content/production coordination (photography & videography), and content writing.These days, I’m focused on copy and content writing for a range of clients across multiple industries, from fitness to fuel cells. Witty captions to full website rewrites. Corporate, commercial, and conceptual. I’ve even found occasional work as a commercial + voiceover talent – so I don’t just write the scripts, sometimes I get to read and feature in them too.I’ve recently helped establish 1B Creative, a boutique creative consultancy specialising in copywriting and design. We believe every business should look and sound its best. We’re a small team with big experience, having worked on projects and campaigns for major international brands.On the side, I run ‘Kinetic Diabetic’, a social media channel dedicated to my daily life with Type 1 Diabetes, and contribute to The Yum List, Malaysia’s premier lifestyle blog for the best F&B establishments in Kuala Lumpur and beyond.Besides that, it’s either at the gym, in the kitchen, or on the sofa. Largely the latter.
