As a partner with Womble Bond Dickinson, I enjoy all aspects of intellectual property law, including providing advice to clients on overall protection and enforcement strategies. However, I focus my practice on litigation and dispute resolution. In particular, I work on claims of infringement involving patents, trademark, copyright and trade secret misappropriation for private and public companies. I have more than a decade of experience in intellectual property dispute resolution that has taken me to dozens of federal district courts, several appellate courts, and the United States Supreme Court. To date, I have counseled clients in patent, trademark, and copyright infringement litigation; dealing with “patent trolls”; proceedings before the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board (“TTAB”); trade secret misappropriation litigation; antitrust matters; counterfeiting matters, and related intellectual property disputes.In my litigation practice, I focus on pre-litigation enforcement and finding creative resolutions to disputes before litigation occurs. However, should the matter result in litigation, I focus on critical pre-trial steps, such as bringing and defending against motions for preliminary injunctions, patent claim construction, surveys regarding trademark issues, all phases of fact and expert discovery, and dispositive motions. If the matter goes to trial, I bring trial experience to the dispute that allows me to guide clients through the difficult aspects of a jury or bench trial.My experience includes representing the following industries and companies in a wide variety of intellectual property disputes, including patent, trademark, and copyright infringement actions: biotherapeutics and biotechnology; cancer diagnostics; charitable organizations; apparel manufacturers; firearms manufacturers; REITs; specialty pharmaceutical (drug delivery); textile; furniture manufacturing and retailing; national and international banking; food and beverage.
