During my tenure, the OMS Band program was among the fastest-growing middle school band programs in metro Atlanta, reaching program sizes of over 450. The Otwell Band program has become recognized as one of the premier Title I band programs in Georgia, receiving invitations to perform at the University of Georgia MidFest (2018) and Music For All Southeastern Regional Concert Festival (2020, 2021). I was a recipient of the National Band Association Citation of Excellence in 2018.My mission for the OMS Band Program was to diversify and enrich musical opportunities for students of all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds in a Title I School. In 2018, I oversaw the founding of the OMS Bands Wednesday Night Lessons Studio, which provides discounted private instruction to students in the Otwell Band (and alumni).
