Worked with capstone group to establish communications with members of Arizona Tribal communities to determine appropriate data collection methods of culturally significant plant species in Northern Arizona.• Created a survey targeted for Arizona Tribal communities to gather information and viewpoints on current data collection methods of culturally significant native plant species• Provided data from our survey results to project researchers to help devise restoration procedures for these plant species• Participated in the Tribal Nations Botanical Research Collaborative by recording observations of traditional plants near campus• Presented survey and research findings at our Undergraduate Capstone Symposium

Conducted interviews with multiple Phoenix HOA board members to determine how land management regulations are enforced to address on-site invasive plant species populations. The overarching project goal was to take steps to create a partnership between our conservancies and local HOAs to reduce the spread of invasive plant species in the Sonoran Desert.• Improved and expanded upon a spreadsheet of existing metadata containing information about over 100 different Phoenix HOAs and their covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CC&Rs)• Created a concise survey about land management regulations and conducted 5 interviews with members of different Phoenix HOAs• Submitted and obtained approval for a research proposal for our work through my university’s Institutional Review Board• Completed weekly project deliverables and coordinated with project managers to meet data collection and interview goals
