As a Formulations Co-op I had the pleasure to work alongside seasoned Formulators who introduced me to the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Here I mainly conducted dissolution studies on a variety of solid state formulations for rare cancers like NSCLC, Mast cell disorders and other genomically defined cancers. Towards the end of my experience as a Co-op, I began learning more about the unit processes involved with traditional pharmaceutical manufacturing (Spray dry dispersion, blending/mixing, roller compaction and tableting). Physical and chemical characterization was conducted using a equipment such as TGA, DSC, DVS, XRPD, HPLC, PLM. Additionally, density testing was also conducted with Accupyc, Geopyc, and bulk/tap density.

At Northeastern, I studied the field of Biotechnology and the current developments occurring within biological sciences from biologic manufacturing to biological tools (PCR, CRISPR, Cell culture, mono/polyclonal antibodies, mRNA, and many more biological tools). We also discussed case studies on the pharmaceutical industry, successes/failures and why/how to make improvements on existing science. In my last year of my masters, I specialized in biodefense and how biotechnology can be applied for potential pandemics or other nefarious activities that can be mitigated through science and policy.

Project Somos is a secular non-profit based in Canada and operates in Guatemala to serve the underserved youth through nutritional as well as general education. Volunteering in Guatemala exposed me to a severely impoverished environment where health, nutrition and education are secondary to survival. I worked alongside an international group of selfless people to improve the lives of the children and families in the surrounding area.

Selected for intensive internship working alongside experts in the Biogeochemistry field. Assisted in research and development efforts to understand the effect of changing environmental conditions on fundamental ecological mechanisms that control the fate of essential elements, most importantly the cycling and storage of carbon.

At the Mark's Meadows After School program, I am responsible for monitoring school aged children. My duties include running homework, computer, athletic, and artistic activities. Additionally, as a mentor to these children, I watch for problematic behaviors and reinforce good behaviors. Problem solving techniques, critical thinking and communication skills are life skills that we actively instill in the after-schoolers.

Served as a member of the DeCA system providing grocery services to the Air Force community in the greater Cheyenne area. Worked independently performing a full range of Store Associate assignments and resolving recurring problems with Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO), Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Cashier, and Merchandising. Additionally, my team provided supply clerical support ensuring that an adequate stock of administrative and operating supplies was maintained.
