I'm a brand and comms strategy director, social impact consultant, research moderator and workshop facilitator. I specialise in shaping brand purpose and creating real world, measurable social impact for brands, charities, and causes. I worked in integrated marketing and advertising agencies for 15 years and led strategy for a wide range of business challenges and sectors, and for a diverse range of clients on all sorts of projects, from brand repositioning to CRM strategy; on-pack, to TV; product innovation to trend and future scoping. I understand impact, the power of evidence and what it takes to change minds. I worked with Walkers to sign and leverage a partnership with Comic Relief, and Pearson to harness collective impact, digitally. I researched brand reputation in Latin America for Shell, and crafted a community-based commercial funding strategy for Trussell Trust foodbanks. Now I work on both sides of the ESG lens, providing joined up, fresh, intelligent thinking that cuts through complexity and drives brand saliency.For charities and causes: I help with insight, comms planning, fundraising strategies, impact driven campaigning, and creative development. I also write, script and produce impact and effectiveness reports.For brand owners: I’m at my best working on purpose and cause; advising on B.Impact strategy; and bringing in-depth knowledge of change theory and impact to convene causes and leverage partnerships that tackle the UN Social Development Goals.For agencies: I’m most often asked to work on briefs from B. Corps and on new business pitches when there is little understanding of the category, brand and/or consumer; or on projects where the planning process identifies a saliency gap. My gift is in bringing clear and fresh thinking, helping teams push forward faster and more effectively.I write case studies and award-winning effectiveness papers, and have won national and global IPM, MAA, and Marketing Society Stars for integrated work on Irn Bru, Sharpie, Kerrygold, Snapple, Dove, Mars and Knorr.
