Being the Site Security Leader of a plant of one of the biggest corporations in the World it is a new challenge in my career which makes me develop new skills and expertise. MAST. is a multipurpose building located in Bologna. It provides services as the canteen, the wellness center, the nursery school and the parking lot for the 1.200 employers of a close factory. In the meantime, it is an art gallery open to the public and, in the auditorium that can contain more than 400 people, it hosts public or private events. All of that in a luxury context.As Security Coordinator, I oversee all aspects of physical security and emergencies. I manage a team of more than 30 contracting people, the supervision of contracts relating with security matters, the supervision of cctv and alarm system maintenance services, the emergency team in case of accidents and I prepare the security related budget. I liaise with police authorities for all the aspects related with public authorities visits and terrorism related matters. I develop new security procedures.

Indian Ocean

As Counter Piracy operator, I assured the armed security of the Italian merchant fleet on board vessels which transit in the High-Risk Area. Moreover, I assessed the vessel passive defences against piracy and I advised the Master on Security issues during my time of service. I worked on team.

Santa Cruz De Tenerife Area, Spain

Working as Legal Advisor for two different NGOs I havethe opportunity of improving my skills of working with people of differentcultures and capacities. I worked for the Canary Deaf people association to advise the President on internal and external matters and I am collaborating as volunteer with the Spanish Red Cross to help immigrants to regularize their administrative position in Spain.

The first part of the job consists in working in TUIoffice to think, prepare, organize and propose the tours for cruise shippassengers visiting Tenerife. The other part of the job was to manage all theaspects related to the tours we offered to assure that passengers have the bestexperience during the tours. So I worked in the port to overseeing that noproblems occur during the time the passengers spent on the island.

As Security Consultant/Manager of the company I revised thephysical security of the logistic site and of all the remote places where thecompany had their slot machines improving the physical security through moderntechnologies. Moreover I developed a risk assessment analysis related on thethreat for the company business. I liaised with the police and I investigated theft.

Being responsible for the safety and the security of guests and staff on my shift, I could develop very good skills as:Language: I developed good abilities to understand and express myself in fluent English.Team Work: my good interpersonal skills and my smiling approach helped to establish partnership and good working relationships with the whole multi-cultural/multi-ethnic staff.Problem Solving: the job required strong problem solving skills because the security officer was called to solve every occurred event. Therefore, my ability to cope with unforeseen problems developed very well.Planning and Organization: running a shift alone in such busy environment required a good ability to plan your own work and manage conflicting priorities to maximize the use of time.Customer care: as requested by the Hotel policy all the situations involve our guests required a high customer care profile.I managed between 0 and 4 Officers.

I worked successfully as ‘platoon commander’ in Italy and Iraq and gained two written praises for my achievements. The job required strong ‘decision making’ in complex-and-high risk situations. Skills developed:Leadership: providing direction and motivation to officers to accomplish our mission.Analyzing and summarizing intelligence to highlight warnings to my platoon.Problem solving: providing solutions for any unforeseen event during service.Planning: masterminding daily duties within my delegated authority.Dealing with people tactfully but in friendly way: to assure the maintenance of Public Order during duties.I managed between 20 and 60 Officers.

I worked successfully as a security officer and I was given the task of reviewing the knowledge of procedures of other officers. Skills developed:Interpreting data -Using X-Ray/CTX machines: matching digital images to baggage and passengers to make educated judgments.Reading human behaviour to maintain the airport’s security.Coping with the public in pressured situations: dealing with customers in a polite manner.

I worked successfully as ‘trooper’ and became a ‘corporal’ after three months. As a commander of a squad of rifleman/assault-troops, my main duty was to lead 9 troopers. In Spain I took part in an exercise named EOLO 2000 on Peace-Keeping, Peace-Enforcement and Non-Combatant Evacuation operations. I finished my service working on ski slopes as a first-aider and weather-snow observer for avalanche prevention. Skills developed:Leadership. Team work.Initiative & Intuition.

I worked (Part-time) as IT consultant to some of Mensys’ clients in Milan (among which Young & Rubicam Italia e Inter F.C.) My main responsibilities were: 1) database development and 2) staff training. Skills developed:Problem solving.Staff Training.Data analysis.
