Jacqueline Arias is the founder of the Jersey Art Exchange (JAX). For more than 7 years, Jacqueline has been living in the Jackson Hill/Greenville Area, curating art & music shows and teaching media arts to youth. Jacqueline started JAX after seeing the challenges her community was facing related to crime, poverty and a severe deficiency of afterschool activities for youth. Jersey Art Exchange, a 501c3 non-profit, brings hope and opportunity to youth by providing safe, easily accessible and clubhouse for teens.JAX enriches the quality of life for residents by providing free media arts, music and technologyprogramming for teens, as well as offering exhibition space and a gathering site for the community.

Imaginary Mothers is a feature-length documentary, (currently in the final stages of post-production) about four mothers from Costa Rica who’s lives have been forever changed by adoption. They bravely reveal the heart-breaking impact that losing their children has had on their lives and as they fight to be reconnected with their children, they also struggle against the myths about young single mothers in Latin America.
