Debut...I am a Teacher. I teach in a rural Maine community. My K-8 school is located near beautiful Acadia National Park. Currently, I teach full time English Language Arts classes at the Middle School. Additionally, I belong to several Professional Learning Communities:

  My duties and responsibilities included planning and teaching daily classes of writing and reading instruction. I included technology integration, reading strategies and learning goals into each lesson. Additionally, I created several blogs and administrated these: blogs for publishing student writing, homeroom news, poetry, book clubs, etc. As Literacy Coach, I facilitate year long professional development opportunities which include book talks, school wide literacy challenges and celebrations, literacy strategy workshops, curriculum research, and monthly leadership of our professional leadership community around literacy. Finally, my most treasured role is that of the classroom librarian. I have a vast collection of books in my student library of which I continually add to based on student interest and recommendations from a variety of communities online. Of course, my passion and hobby is to read young adult literature. Goodreads is an online network for book enthusiasts and I am one of the many on board. I also write reviews from time to time.
