My BA and MA degrees in English Literature have equipped me with various skills related to the discipline, such as writing, editing, and research. The highlights of my English Literature degrees were the international opportunities: I studied abroad at the University of Birmingham for a semester as an undergrad and presented my research paper at an international film festival conference in Avanca, Portugal as a graduate student. These experiences ignited my love for travel, my curiosity in learning about different cultures, and my desire to keep exploring. Since then, I became an active member in the international community at the University of Guelph as a volunteer and an ambassador. After graduation, I moved to Germany for a year where I worked as a city tour guide. Since my return to Canada, I worked for a polar expedition travel company as a Sales Coordinator. These experiences have further developed my communications skills, both interpersonally and cross-culturally, and provided me with opportunities to problem solve, innovate, and grow to become a more inclusive and open-minded global citizen. Now as a recent MLIS graduate, I am currently working at the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) as an Information Management Officer. Although my formal education has come to an end, I continue to pursue my interests in critical librarianship, information organization, and information equity.
Listed skills include Public Speaking, Communication, Teamwork, International Travel, and 30 others.
