Assistant Athletic Trainer
Duluth, Minnesota, United States
2013 - 2017 Women's Ice Hockey (secondary w. tennis, m&w track and field)2017 - 2018 Men's and Women's Track and Field, Women's Tennis (secondary Football)2018 - 2019 Women's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Track and Field, Women's TennisIn this job setting I became a very well rounded ATC. I was familiar with Women's Ice Hockey but this was indeed taken to the next level as this team had a number of International athletes some of who played for their countries National Teams. Throughout my stay at UMD I transitioned from working primarily with one team of 30 athletes, to independently providing care for over 80 athletes. Each of those two roles taught me different strategies for managing my time. I believe if you ask my employer, they would say I did an exceedingly well job at managing a high volume of athlete injuries/conditions while not sacrificing quality of care.Aside from direct patient care I held numerous responsibilities including:Preceptor for athletic training students at the College of St. ScholasticaEmergency Action Plan (created, updated, and implemented training)Certification of Coaches for CPRMaintained therapeutic modality annual calibration Highlight Injuries/conditions:Worked with athlete through schizophrenia diagnosis and return to play.Management of non-concurrent bilateral Achilles rupture from diagnosis, 2 different surgical approaches, to return to play.
