San Joaquin Valley Community Ownership CoordinatorCACLTN is partnering with the San Joaquin Valley Funders Collaborative to support organizations pursuing projects in the Valley that are based on shared ownership and democratic governance. These projects include cooperatives, CLTs, and community-owned agricultural initiatives. SJV Community Ownership Coordinator will be a facilitator, convenor, connector and resource for Project participant organizations, helping them access what they need to develop their programs and make an impact.

South Bay Community Land Trust is pursuing a community focused model for preservation and community development by working with tenants to protect homes and communities. The Project Coordinator will support SBCLT to develop a community-oriented model for transformative land ownership by: (1) strengthening existing capacity building within the organizations' volunteer-led committees,(2) developing & implementing fundraising strategies & grant writing(3) supporting community outreach and education efforts and(4) supporting the Pilot Project team in rehab/acquisition coordination of the SBCLT's first property

*Lead planning and execution of network-wide (120 members), bilingual workshops, including design, logistics, and evaluation and utilizing popular education methodology *Develop and implement quantitative and qualitative evaluation of LMV program, advocacy, and staff *Support in the transferring of that data to Salesforce databases to track and analyze program and network goals & trends *Hire, manage, and provide 1-to-1 coaching and professional development training for La Mesa Verde staff*Manage day-to-day operations, learning, and work planning of La Mesa Verde team, network, and volunteers *Manage a $250,000+ budget, write government and foundation grant applications and reports, track and report on deliverables, and maintain strong relationships with network of private and public funders

*Managed the 70-80 gardener membership component of La Mesa Verde (LMV) programming. *Supported LMV Advisory Committee in the creation and execution of (bi)-monthly politicized gardening workshops. *Provided Salesforce training to LMV staff in support of the tracking and analysis of program and leadership development goals as the designated "Salesforce Power User" of the team. *Executed one-on-one meetings and training with members to develop food justice consciousness, meeting facilitation skills, and an understanding of healthy group dynamics*Guided the new LMV Organizing Committee (2017) in developing a campaign timeline to expand access to fresh produce in affordable housing developments via policy changes. Committee had to become inactive in late 2018 due to structural changes in team. *Supported the LMV Events Committee in planning and organizing the annual Spring and Fall plant distributions.*Supported the La Mesa Verde Organizing Manger and Organizing Committee in the campaign to pass an Urban Agriculture Incentive Zone (UAIZ) Ordinance at the County and City level by coordinating efforts with partner organizations, preparing members for public testimony, and co-leading political education workshops on the matter.

*Led community outreach activities for annual recruitment of 50 new program participants and coordinated volunteer opportunities. *Co-facilitated bilingual (Spanish/English) and monolingual workshops on organic gardening and food systems. *Directed and supervised the building and installation of garden beds with over 125 volunteers to 50 new La Mesa Verde members.

*Compiled a literature review on factors facilitating, obstructing and/or motivating adequate delivery of vertical HIV transmission (mother-to-child) prevention services by community health workers in both high-income and poverty-stricken nations. *Transcribed literary findings into a reference matrix for future research. *Analyzed field interviews of community health workers, community members and family members in relation to Maternal/Child Healthcare and HIV prevention services in Mozambique using the software Dedoose.

*Assessed and developed a work plan for the reintegration of a nutrition program in the institution’s health clinic. *Facilitated workshops on nutritional factors associated with the prevention and exacerbation of diarrheal episodes during the clinic’s monthly community health worker trainings.

*Conducted quantitative research on food expenditures of individuals and/or families participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) within the five boroughs of New York City. *Analyzed data using IBM SSPSS statistical software and presented findings to research staff.
