Jacqueline Samuda is a writer/director/actress with a twenty-year background in Canada and the U.S. Jacqueline received a 2016 Leo Award for Best Performance by a Female in a Dramatic TV Series for her appearance in UpTV's Ties That Bind. She recently completed roles in the indie feature The Prodigal Dad, and in an upcoming TV movie with pop icon Debbie Gibson. Other credits include the recent Hallmark movies Once Upon a Holiday and When Sparks Fly, and recurring roles in Spooksville, The L Word and Stargate SG-1. Her voiceover career spans documentary series, multiple ongoing North American commercial campaigns and animation series and features, and several videogames including Necrodancer and Homeworld: Shipbreakers.She has taught screenwriting at UBC and Vancouver Film School, and Directing Actors as a guest artist at UCLA’s Film Program. Jacqueline’s short films have been screened at major film festivals including the Vancouver International Film Festival. She has been a juror, panellist and moderator on many film industry and awards panels (including the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television; the Gemini Awards and the Leo Awards).She served as President of the Board of Pacific Cinematheque, and as a two-time Past President of Women in Film and Television Vancouver, and consultant on the organizations’ Task Force and Advisory Board.
