Following initial startup activities, focus turns to continuous improvement activities, including yield and uptime improvement projects, development of training and communication tools for operations, and root cause investigation as new issues arise. Regularly practice ownership, accountability, flexibility, and cross-functional collaboration.

Led engineering activities for a pilot manufacturing line, including day-to-day troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives to consistently deliver business objectives. Applied process discipline and fundamental understanding of KPIV’s and KPOV’s to build dashboards and data analysis tools for process control. Collaborated with operations and quality organizations to meet customer specifications and delivery schedule.

Developed processes to enable the application of low coefficient of friction coating to pharmaceutical vials, enabling increased throughput and reduced breakage on customer lines. Collaborated with commercial and quality organizations to understand voice of the customer, translating customer feedback into technical paths to deliver an exceptional product. Led the development of airless and ultrasonic spray technologies for this application, including definition of critical questions, experimentation and data analysis, risk assessment, and demonstration of feasibility. Transferred new coating compositions and processes from research and development into pilot manufacturing. Provided subject matter expertise to engineering and manufacturing groups regarding spray coating fundamentals.

Served as an internal consultant, facilitating scale-up of development processes to manufacturing across a breadth of technologies, industries, and stages of innovation. Designed, executed, and analyzed experiments to test hypotheses and drive fundamental understanding and process improvements. Worked collaboratively with scientists, operators, technicians, modelers and engineers to resolve technical problems.
