I work closely with the Injury Prevention Coordinator to facilitate programs to prevent childhood injuries. I utilize my Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor certification to supervise 7 Car Seat Inspection Sites in Northern New Jersey; 6 of which I opened. I continually train the Technicians on the ever- evolving CPS world. I work to create a TEAM atmosphere for all CPST and encourage Technicians throughout New Jersey to recertify with us. I write continuing education credit programs to assist the technicians in keeping current with their CPS skills. I enjoy educating children, in the elementary school setting, on the importance of using a booster seat. I have expanded the school interest from one county to three. By utilizing my public speaking skills, I facilitate New Jersey Teen Driving Program, Share the Keys, in the High Schools settings. While partnering with State Farm, I present the Car Care program to college students to remind them that caring for their vehicles is an important step to getting to their destination safely. I have taken steps to provide Seniors with the Carfit program and am authorized by AAA, AARP and AOTA, as a Carfit Coordinator. I compile paperwork and submit reports to Safe Kids Worldwide, where I have reached 100% accuracy. I work to create partnerships with local stores, schools, and businesses to encourage their involvement in the prevention of childhood injuries.

Instructor for Transporting Children with Special Health Care Needs. The course is designed as an enrichment course for child passenger safety technicians who are interested in learning more about special needs transportation. The training is two days, combines classroom, lecture and hands on exercises. During the training, students will be introduced to medical conditions that can impact restraint selection and have the opportunity to investigate and install specialized restraint systems.

EducatorAs the Lead CPS Instructor in Northern NJ, I work closely with NJDHTS who holds the grant funding and Safe Kid worldwide to execute the National CPS training to students interested. We teach students how to provide education to parents and caregivers on proper use of car seats. Maintain highest standard of knowledge of the constant changes of car seat manufacturers. Provide the most up to date information to both parents/caregivers and Technicians.
