Defined the global approach for the records management and archiving programme to facilitate the closure of 38 branches. Successfully led the delivery to 23 countries in EMEA ensuring that RBS maintained the relevant data it needed for business, regulatory, legal and accountability purposes following the closure of the RBS international banking network. The programme scope covered 2200 employees, 7700 top level clients, 81000 external client accounts, c.150 local applications, c.150 global applications, e-mail, voice and shared drives and the physical archives of the 23 countries. The programme was a key enabler of RBS’s cost reduction and efficiency targets. Managed & accountable for all aspects of programme delivery for 23 countries in EMEA:• Worked with Legal and Compliance internally and externally to define regulatory requirements. • Scope was approved and Risk tolerance parameters were agreed to expedite decision making• Set up governance and reporting• Completed business cases to agree budget and resource for new teams in the Services Hubs and Service level agreements to facilitate the use of the hubs and external service providers.• Mobilised resources for the EMEA delivery. Managed an international team of direct and indirect reports • Organised and structured the worksteams. Milestones were consolidated at country, regional and global level to manage complexity and mitigate the risk of scheduling density.• Acceptance criteria were agreed for each work package.• Agreed a comprehensive communication plan to ensure engagement with all internal stakeholders, Regulators and Clients. Successful delivery was facilitated through robust knowledge transfer to the Services hubs for Regulator, Client and Litigation queries and application archiving retrievable through the London based Data Retrieval Services team. The programme was fully audited and all findings were successfully addressed and closed down

The successful delivery of this programme contributed to the early removal of c£38bn in risk-weighted assets and the release of capital allowing RBS to achieve the strategic agenda to strengthen and reshape the balance sheet• Worked with RBS group and external legal to agree the process and timelines. • Set up the programme structure and governance. Agreed the scope and implemented change control to ensure a robust process was in place.• Key focus on internal executive stakeholder management and engagementSuccessfully completed enablement of c.250 loans ensuring that each of these were fully remediated and loaded into the virtual data rooms by the stipulated deadline.

Led the change and governance agenda for the EMEA region, translating strategy into deliverables for execution across the Services function reporting into the EMEA Chief Administration Officer (CAO). Key achievements:• Led a programme to review and remediate 859 supplier contracts, which successfully closed a significant audit risk and resulted in sustainable solutions being implemented.• Project Managed the initiation stage of the Ring-fencing programme for EMEA Services.• Delivered a holistic information pack for EMEA Services, which fed into the Group strategy decision paper for Capital Resolution (RBS’s ‘capital out, cost out’ strategic initiative). • Developed the Business Improvement and Sustainability strategy for the EMEA CAO network. Rolled out LEAN methodology to facilitate delivery. Implemented an ambassador network to share success and cross-pollinate these ideas through the region. Coached and mentored junior colleagues within the team to ensure successful delivery.

Successfully defined and delivered a services wide transformation programme managing a budget of £7.2m. The programme delivered a comprehensive redesign of the operating model in 15 countries and resulted in a cost saving of £10.7mThe key areas of this role included:• Led a workshop with all country COO’s to identify and agree the deliverables. • Wrote the business case and secured a £7.2m investment to deliver the programme.• Prepared the business case for the European Employee Council. • Initiated the programme, agreed the governance model, structured the delivery streams, secured resource and stakeholder engagement and defined the roadmap• Implemented a robust risk and control framework • Built KPI dashboards that ensured accuracy, transparency and compliance of the financial reporting. • Multiple stakeholder management across all levels of the organisation The programme delivered a comprehensive redesign and reduction of the country footprint, which, resulted in sustainable, volume insensitive, branch models, improved client service through standardisation and reduced operational risk (fully mitigating £5.9m loss in the previous 2 years).

Project managed the integration of EMEA Markets and Transactions Services Operations as part of the of legal entity merger between ABN Amro NV and RBS PLC.Key aspects of the role included:• Project planning and milestone management, resource allocation and tracking and budget management of the allocated spend in conjunction with the PMO• Recruited and led a team of 8 resources and managed SME’s assigned to the programme• Adhered to the RAID framework, ensuring all risks and issues were captured and remediated or escalated. • Led working group meetings and attended Project Delivery Boards to provide updates• Managed multiple stakeholders across all levels of the organisation and the 16 countries. • Delivery workstreams included Operations, IT, Legal, Treasury and Risk • Led Central Command and Control for Operations over the Dress Rehearsal (DR) and Go Live weekends.• Implemented business validation checks to ensure business readiness on day one.
