I see change as positive and I aim to make a positive difference every day. I am naturally very organised and enjoy working with others as part of a team. I lead my Department to successfully deliver change, continuously seeking improvement. I confidently communicate with a variety of stakeholders on a daily basis. I enjoy supporting others as a mentor and coach. I work under time pressure on a daily basis.I have worked as a Science teacher in a large high school for the last 16 years, where I have increased my responsibilities. For the last 3 years I have led my Department, seeking to improve our curriculum delivery using the latest research. I am used to delegating tasks and ensuring delivery within deadlines. Over the last ten years, I have worked as a mentor and coach for trainee science teachers, all of whom have successfully completed their training. Providing motivation to continue has been key to ensuring they complete their journey.My career began in the food industry and before making a career change I worked as the Labelling Legislation Manager for a large international food company. On a daily basis, I enjoyed the responsibility of my role. I worked under pressure, creatively solving problems in multi-disciplinary teams. Setting and meeting goals has been part of every role I have undertaken. I have always worked with great attention to detail, prioritising projects and working with highly confidential information. I have had to make difficult decisions and, at times, positively communicate unwelcome outcomes. I see change as a positive. My caring responsibilities encouraged me away from the food industry and led me to find new challenges in education. I continued to seek responsibilities and qualified as a Specialist Leader in Education. In addition, I enjoyed jointly leading, within the Multi Academy Trust in which I work, the STEM strand of a project with the University of Oxford, promoting applications to the University from state schools within the North West. Most recently I have successfully completed an NPQ in Leading Teaching Development. I am now looking to further my career and welcome change once more. I need to feel that I will continue to bring value and progression to my role, actively supporting others to deliver.
