Under the pact, the US and the UK will help Australia to acquire nuclear-powered submarines. It also included cooperation on advanced cyber, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, undersea capabilities, hypersonic and counter-hypersonic, electronic warfare, innovation and information sharing. My key role was to foster an allied innovation ecosystem in emerging and disruptive technologies. I bridged the gap between the most creative innovators and defence and security stakeholders.

This enterprise underpins a new, enduring and highly technical industry which is carried forward through several policy prisms—industry engagement, advanced manufacturing, employment, skilling, research and development, innovation and international engagement.// In close consultation with international and domestic industry, led an interdisciplinary team of experts responsible for developing, implement and monitor policies and strategies to establish a fit-for purpose national infrastructure, workforce and industrial base to support the construction of over 54 locally built complex naval vessels. The team started with a handful of experts and grew to an office of up to 100 in less than two years. // Australia's lead negotiator for a government-to-government arrangement with the UK for the development of A$50 billion future frigate program by BEA Systems.
