Senior Behavior Change / Social Marketing Specialist
Technical advisor in a scaling up rural sanitation & handwashing (HW) knowledge and learning initiative that grew from a 6-country project supported by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to a global program. Provided critical support to country teams in all aspects of behavior change (BC) interventions. Spearheaded the development of the first ever published frameworks to help program managers analyze and explain HW and sanitation behaviors to improve the effectiveness of their interventions. Led and managed pioneer studies to fill critical knowledge gaps such as the sustainability of sanitation marketing in Vietnam and a global analysis of behavioral determinants of sanitation. Initiated and co-developed a working paper examining nudges and habit-change tactics to stop open defecation, enabling program managers to bolster the effectiveness of traditional approaches. Founded and lead a Behavior Change Community of Practice which has grown to over 700 members across the World Bank.
