I am first year student at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, majoring in finance. I have a passion for creativity, collaborating with others, and helping people in my community. I have used my strength by participating in Vex Robotics’ World Competition in high school. Through this, I have worked with people all around the world coming up with strategies and overall communication skills. I continued to use these communication skills as cheer captain. Here, I learned to listen to my fellow cheerleaders and effectively communicate with the coaching staff if there was a problem on the team.Today in Kelley, I am learning skills that are transferable to the work place. In my classes, I am using Excel spreadsheets to gather quantitative data. This will allow me to not only be comfortable with excel, but I am able to understand raw data and organize it. I am also working on several team projects to expand my communication skills and team work.These skills that I have picked up can be used in the workspace with group and individual projects. I am willing to use my communication skills to ask questions. I hope to use these skills to help or even mentor other workers. This will help with my leadership skills.
