I was brought to PetSmart to transform and modernize the company’s approach to PR and social media.The team's work to build connection and spark conversation elevated PetSmart's positive media coverage by 136% YOY and increased quarterly sales attributed to PR by 70% in my first year in the role.Responsible for the full portfolio of external communications at the Fortune 500 company, I worked with a team and an agency partner in corporate storytelling, consumer media relations, executive visibility and thought leadership, corporate social responsibility amplification, while supporting crisis communications and reputation management. I also served as interim Director of Internal Communications and further supported an extended vacancy in that role.Unfortunately my role was impacted by layoffs and restructuring following private equity activity.

For 5 years, I operated my dog’s - yes, my dog’s - social media presence. Over this time, I grew her following to nearly 100K on Instagram and 200K on TikTok. As the sole operator of her accounts, I managed every aspect of the influencer role, from content development to paid partnerships to PR to website.

I left OH partners to join the agency's former CEO and CCO in building their boutique marketing agency. Here, I helped develop the identity and strategy of the public relations and social media team, zeroing in on core competencies and differentiators.I supported new business, team growth and development, and account strategy and execution.

As associate director, I managed and mentored a team of 7 PR and social media junior team members to help them grow their understanding of integrated marketing and communications. In this role, my key responsibilities involved leading integrated strategy across the agency's PR and social accounts while serving on OH’s executive council.

At Arizona's largest advertising agency, I empowered the PR and social teams to collaborate across agency disciplines, aligning communications, amplifying messaging, and keeping a finger on the pulse of relevance, trends, and changing audience preferences. My strategic work in new business development helped add more than $500,000 in new billings to the agency in a single year, and I developed and executed thought leadership and executive visibility work for key clients and our own agency leaders, amplifying corporate social responsibility, points of view that challenge the status quo, etc.Client work included: Arizona Lottery, United Nations HeForShe, Four Peaks Brewing Co., Gila River Indian Community, OH Partners, Arizona Department of Health Services, Bayless Integrated Healthcare.

During my time at the fully-integrated advertising agency, I worked directly with up to eight clients to serve as account lead and manage day-to-day activities, taking a wholistic view of client goals to craft communications strategies that capitalized on content across multiple channels. Here, I built strong working knowledge of paid, earned, shared and owned tactics across clients and industries to amplify and enhance results.-Managed local and national public relations efforts for the Arizona Office of Tourism, securing coverage in major outlets, such as Departures and Travel Channel. Local efforts included award-winning work (2018 Copper Anvil Award of Merit) encouraging Arizonans to get out and explore their own state while celebrating the economic impact of Arizona's travel and tourism industry.-Enhanced public perception of local arts organizations and elevated their status for national audiences. Successes included a feature of the Arizona Opera in Delta Sky Magazine and securing coverage for Scottsdale Public Art's Canal Convergence on Thrillist.com and MSN.com.-Oversaw and developed all content on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for regional gym chain EōS Fitness. In five months, Facebook engagement was up roughly 200%, likes on Instagram content had nearly tripled and social media website referrals doubled.

I left Local Motors following a series of layoffs and restructuring across the startup company. During my time there, I led media relations campaigns for new initiatives and product launches, wrote weekly thought leadership and company news items for LM’s blog and crafted messaging for internal and external communications projects on behalf of key executives, including the co-founder and CEO.

At Arizona's federally designated organ recovery organization, I acted as the lead resource for social media media inquiries, crisis communication and reputation management. In a single year, I generated more than 150 earned media hits, and one of my top PR initiatives increased organ donation registration in Arizona by 100%.I also supported internal communications, including organizational response and identity during media crises and contributing to the organization's internal newsletter and corporate website.By implementing new content and measurement practices, I increased the organization's social media engagement by 30%.
