Full Stack Software Engineer with a background in digital marketing. My passion for using emerging software to develop brands and strategies has led me to transition into software engineering. In my previous role as global marketing coordinator, I found myself with a propensity for deeper technical tasks, and I was given the opportunity to improve the firm and its restaurants’ websites via Content Management Systems like Squarespace and Wordpress. It was then that I got my first taste of working production code. During that time, I designed and improved upon websites using HTML & CSS. Some of the enhancements I made include incorporating accessibility designs to meet AAA compliance, as well as making the websites more optimized for SEO.With those experiences in my back pocket, I started to realize that my interest in technical tasks went deeper than CMS-based web design. I sought to find deeper meaning and further improvement for existing processes, by exploring applications for project management, restaurant rating and booking systems, and management of marketing campaigns. I found myself intrigued by how these applications work and fascinated with the blend of both creativity and logical thinking that software development embodies.After finding my stride, it dawned on me that this is the kind of insight and stimulation that I was looking for both as a hobby and as a professional career. Then I decided to enhance my knowledge in software engineering by taking the Software Engineering Immersive course at Flatiron School.When I am not coding, I love to climb and experiment with recipes. The rock climber in me gives me the flexibility and adaptability to be a multi-faceted problem solver under intense pressure, and imbues me with a passion for consistent self-improvement. I enjoy these hobbies so much that I created full-stack applications for climbers to track and share their climbing progress with their community (Bolderer) and for homecooks to find recipes for pantry ingredients during quarantine (Umami Pantry).
