Hi everyone! :)I'm Jacqueline or Jacqkie, a Kota Kinabalu Sabah native with more than 15 years of marketing experience with nuance on the East Malaysia market and special skills in digital marketing. I first started in the social media advertising industry and then moved on to the tourism travel and is now in the retail industry. My skills and experience include digital sales and marketing (e.g online websites), social media strategies, online distribution sales (Booking.com, Expedia.com, Agoda.com etc), web copy writing, content marketing, search engine optimization, search engine marketing and reporting and analytics. I started as an online writer for Cinema.com.my (targeted on movies and films entertainment). I reviewed movies and wrote entertainment news prior to or post launches. Was privileged to meet and greet local celebrities, conduct interviews, visit movie sites and attend press events, both for working and social purposes. I have a brief background of doing corporate communications in an IT Solutions company, Mesiniaga Berhad and was actively involved in corporate events and corporate research. I then moved to the tourism and travel industry under Marriott International, world's biggest hotel line and was in the industry for 8.5 years managing their marketing channels. The pandemic has rocked the tourism industry at that point and when I was offered to explore a new industry, I took it. I am currently in the shopping and retail industry, under marketing and brand management reaching out to local consumers in this market on the brands, deals and promotions through targeted strategies. E-commerce has taken center stage during the pandemic and I am here to help this industry pushes through this platform with my new roles and responsibilities. Ultimately, the goal is a more vigor economy. My next aspiration is a step forward role to oversee other international regions within Malaysia, APAC or South East Asia market either on site, remotely or hybrid with great interest in Singapore, Australia, New Zealand or Oceania to support your organization’s success. Besides travelling, I love arts, painting and cultural acquaintances.
