Currently Programme Director for MSc in Computing and Animation & Games and XR at Dundalk Institute of Technology in Immersive Technologies prior to that has 20 years academic experience at Southern Regional college in both further and education, Course Coordinator on Advanced diploma in E-Media (2002-2004), Btec National Diploma in Multimedia (A&D) (2006-2010), Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production (2010-2012) and Lead Coordinator (Armagh/Newry) for Btec Extended Diploma in IT – Interactive Computing. (2011-2014)Module subject leadership HND Games for Creative media Industries, Games in Context, Art development for Games pathway. Foundation degree in Interaction design - Introduction to Communication design, Creative 3D modelling, Interaction Design(UX) and Exploring Identity, Foundation degree in Interactive Multimedia- Animation Techniques, Introduction to Graphic Design, Creative Web Design. HND Computing -Augmented and Virtual Reality, Emerging Technologies. Experience teaching; Stop motion animation, narrative image making, Animation production, Games design, Print media advertising, Motion Graphics/VFX, Creative and Technical 3d modelling, Art Fundamentals, and Web Design. Jackie Toal has the ability to teach on a wide variety of courses.Jackie Toal is interested in widening participation and collaborative projects that bring cultures together so in 2009-2011 was successful as Lead Coordinator independently networking via eTwinning to create and establish contact with “Leopoldo Pirelli.” in Rome Italy, developed an E-Art project, funded by British council, Comenius. Also participated in 2008 in a Transversal study visit Estonia for best practice in “innovation e-school”. Worked in swimwear, as a colorist, printed textile designer, interiors. Jackie Toal has multi-disciplinary skillset and external to the institute would paint and create surface pattern, has keen interest in development for surface pattern and print design as well as VR art development with Google Tilt brush. Loves to bring innovation into the classroom through digital tools and immersive learning!
