Inspired by the fascinating field of architecture, Jacqueline Velez followed her dreams of becoming an Architect since early adolescence. She graduated from New York Institute of Technology and began working for an architectural studio gaining knowledge in preparing contract documents, building code reviews, zoning consulting and expediting work. After a few years, she ventured on her own and established a consulting company in the summer of 1992. JMV Associates, LLC has steadily grown within the past decades and has been successful in obtaining contracts as prime consultant with NYEDC and a sub-consultant work with DASNY, NYCHA, NYCSCS, ROIC, NYCDPR and NYCDOT. Later in her career, Jacqueline became registered as an Architect for the state of New York and New Jersey. In early February of 2016, she established JMV Architect, PLLC, a consulting firm specializing in architectural designs for public and private sectors. Her portfolio includes renovations and construction of new schools, office buildings, retail, residential, community facilities, including adaptive reuse.In 2019, JMV Architect, PLLC was awarded two contracts: one as prime and the other as a sub-consultant. Jacqueline's business work philosophy continues to flourish by providing strong work ethic, personalized one-on-one services with each client and lead a rigorous quality control for each project.Both JMV Associates, LLC and JMV Architect, PLLC are emerging entities fully dedicated to their projects by remaining committed and responsive through completion. Additionally, both companies are certified as Minority Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) with various agencies including Empire State Development, Small Business Services, The School Construction Authority (SCA), and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
