Currently, I am the ESL 1 instructor at Boston Collaborative High School in Boston Public Schools. BCHS is an alternative high school that works with older students, mostly from 17-20 years old, in a project-based, universally designed curriculum. Our school serves a multilingual community of English language learners as well as students seeking success in non-traditional classroom settings from schools throughout Boston Public Schools. I am dually licensed through the state of Massachusetts in ESL and Spanish 5 - 12. Previously, I was a High School Spanish Instructor in Littleton, Massachusetts. I was responsible for 120+ students across Intermediate, Honors and AP Spanish. I created and delivered Comprehensible Input (CI) based lessons following state World Language Frameworks guiding students on an appropriate path to proficiency according to ACTFL. I collaborated on implementing Proficiency Based Learning (PBL) according to ACTFL Guidelines. I regularly implemented ongoing Professional Development practices with peers and in the classroom, focusing on second language acquisition, Social Emotional Learning, etc. Previously, I worked with Massachusetts Migrant Education Program located through communities in the North of Boston with a strong immigrant tradition: Chelsea, Revere, Lynn, etc. I collaborated with migrant families and their students to provide one on one support in the community in regards to education, community relations, immigration, etc.
