As a child, I knew fashion was my passion. Being lucky enough to know my career path at such a young age, I've attempted to use this to my advantage as best as I can. I am a third year at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, majoring in Retail Merchandising and minoring in Marketing and Interdisciplinary Design. My interest in the field started from a very young age. I've lived in many places, one being Tianjin, China. This experience allowed me to travel the continent of Asia, exposing me to a multitude of cultures and styles. I was captivated by the use of personal cultures and their implementation into design. Once back in the US, I moved around seven times, attending 5 different schools. Having lived all over the Midwest, I was forced to develop a unique and personable skillset from a young age. I pride myself in being able to problem solve, lead, and build a quality relationship in and out of the workplace. My experiences moving as a child taught me these skills and the value of both time and opportunity. I have become an open-minded leader, who prides herself on success and happiness all around. I have worked in retail since I was 16 years old and knew immediately it was the career I wanted to take on. Having been a stylist, a social media influencer, and a key-holder for multiple brands, my customer service experience ties hand in hand with the consumer behavior education I am currently undergoing. At the University of Minnesota, I am involved in our NRFSA chapter in my college, leading as the President. Through this organization, I learn from executives in the area and build a community of retail-driven students like myself. Additionally, I work as the Creative Director for the UMN BOF (Business of Fashion). Utilizing social media, I connect with our followers and members to share news, trends, updates, and events. Currently, I am looking for a summer internship anywhere in the U.S. I look forward to widening my experience in retail fashion and bringing my unique skillset to the table.
