I am responsible for rooming patients, taking histories and vitals, calling in prescriptions, triage, scheduling and answering multi-line phones.

During my time at NorthStar Neurology I had started as a receptionist at the front desk and worked my way up to Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy and EEG technician. Some of the duties included:Managing Laboratory including ordering all supplies and staying up to date with all policies and procedures to make sure we were within the protocols for specimen handling and processing.Managed Botox clinic which included following protocol for mixing and preparing Botox syringes for physicians with the proper unit amounts for each patient.Ordering and maintaining a proper supply of Botox while staying within the clinic budget.Assisted with sterile procedures with physicians and sending out collected specimens to proper laboratories.Performed EEG diagnostic testing per physician request.Scheduled and referred patients to necessary specialists or return appointments.Obtained referrals and prior authorization for diagnostic testing and medication request.Handled front desk duties including checking in patients, collecting copays and deductibles and updating registration and insurance.Sorted and distributed incoming mail and balanced cash at the end of the day for deposits.

Duties including but not limited to:Rooming patients, taking histories and vitals and recording in the chart accurately.Prepping patients for examination or procedures including: removing casting materials, ordering x-rays, removing sutures and staples, casting, mixing steroid and Botox injections to be administered by physicians.Assisted with post surgical follow ups and wound care in a clinical setting and by phone.Ordered medical supplies for the Redmond offsite location.

Duties including but not limited to:Rooming patients, taking histories and vitals and recording them in the chart accurately.Phlebotomy.Performed voiding trials, bladder US scans, changes SP tubes, placement and removal of catheters, and removal of sutures and staples.Administered bladder cancer treatments via catheter as well as chemotherapy injections and other IM injections. Assisted physicians with outpatient surgeries including setting up procedure room, prepping patient, surgical technician duties during procedure and cleaning procedure room.Autoclaving instruments.Triage and filling prescriptions in accordance with guidelines.
