Includes same duties as Temporary Quality Systems Technician with additional responsibilities.Prepares plant for daily production by calibration of laboratory equipment, approves production schedules to assure proper changeovers are selected in consideration of allergenic material carry over and the quality of products, conducts pre-operational inspections for cleanliness, and verifies equipment on production lines are working properly.Serves as point of contact on-site for quality related matters such as off-texture products, raw material issues, reviewing COAs, releasing materials & updating system for production to minimize downtime of OEE.Liaison with USDA Inspector; maintaining an open-door policy of the plant’s operations and any other activity that may occur inside the plant such as contractor work, pest-control activity, rehandling of product, etc.Reviews & approves labels; ensures all content on label are in correct specification - includes graphics, special labeling claims, nutrition facts, etc.Responsible for properly documenting holds in EDMS to ensure quantity in inventory system is accurate and assist in hold investigations to determine product’s disposition. Coordinates meeting with production to discuss recent quality related issues; collects feedback and suggestions to share with management for continuous improvement. Assistance in updating SOP procedures, shelf-life evaluation/ extensions, customer complaints investigations, BRC Audits, food safety walk through, ISO 14001 certification process, and more.

Conducts a series of organoleptic laboratory tests to verify products are in compliance with regulatory requirements, and quality standards are being upheld. Maintains record of all batches tested.Ensures plant is in ordinance with its HACCP Food Safety program and GMP is being followed by performing daily cleanliness inspections of facility and inspecting cleanliness of changeovers.Enforces positive release of products. Assures product is safe for consumption to the public and traceability is being maintained to prevent company from food safety recalls by verifying information on product matches its BOM, and all checks are properly completed.
