Profile bio

About Jacquelyn Land

I am a lab analyst at Nelson Labs working in the bacterial endotoxin department, the bioburden lab, and the sterility assurance lab. I test and perform analyses on medical and pharmaceutical products. Previously I was a research assistant at Brigham Young University. I have experience working in a Microbiology Lab studying water quality and chemistry, assisting in bioassays, and investigating eutrophication impact. I also worked in an analytical chemistry lab focusing on renewable energies through waste-regenerative processes. My research experience, along with many of my core classes and being the secretary of the Environmental Science Club, inspires my long-term goals. I want to go into research and solutions surrounding anthropogenic impacts on the environment, specifically water bodies. I also want to bring health, happiness, and sustainability to others. To aid my overarching goals that require interdisciplinary solutions, I needed to gain skills in other areas. I minored in Statistics and International Development and worked as a teaching assistant. Minoring in statistics has helped me gain skills such as R programming, data interpretation, and how to perform statistical analysis. My minor in International Development opened my eyes to theories and ways to obtain solutions that can effectively help others living in diverse circumstances. As a teaching assistant, I effectively communicated complex subjects and topics to large groups of students. I plan to continue to create a positive and effective impact throughout my career and life.
