Curriculum Development and Environmental Education: Worked closely with educators and digital content provider (Discovery Education) to design and implement instructional materials and assessments to support the environmental science curriculum for the county’s 10,000+ middle school students. The curriculum, developed in adherence with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), engages students through investigation to analyze human impact on the local environment and natural resources.Conducting Workshops, Outreach Programs, Instructional Coaching, and Inquiry-based Learning: Facilitated multiple workshops and professional development activities to train ~300 educators on student-centered practices, scientific inquiry, and digital tools/resources.Training and Technical Assistance: Oversaw the work of 2–3 educators on curriculum design, development, and implementation, providing training and technical assistance.Building Community Partnerships and Resource Development: Partnered with local organizations to create user-friendly resources and materials for educators, parents, and students. Curriculum Innovation and Student Activism: Designed curriculum focused on environmental literacy and citizen stewardship to encourage student activism within local communities. Education Program Development and Community Engagement: Partnered with academic/nonprofit entities to enhance environmental education initiatives. Devised and coordinated 4 school-wide programs designed to initiate and sustain community engagement. Established environmental club framework, embraced local student activism practices, implemented the terrapin repopulation program, and introduced school-wide food waste standards. The initiatives helped the school receive the Maryland Green School Certification within a year, which has been maintained for 4 years.Coordinate Meetings, Reporting, and Information Sharing: As one of two Green School coordinators, facilitated school-wide meetings to share report updates and quarterly goals/tasks for the school year.
