Jacques is Chief Economist and Executive Chairman of Afriforesight. He was an economist at Trust Bank (now ABSA) and then at the Bureau for Economic Research (BER) before he founded Afriforesight in 1996. Jacques serves on various boards and has been a strategic leader in various projectsJacques’ unique foresight skills are utilised in various ways: Jacques is known for his wide knowledge of the international world of commodities and is editor of four regular commodity-based forecasting reports. He sits on the BER’s quarterly forecasting committee, a seat he has occupied for the last 24 years. He also facilitated a number of scenario planning exercises for executive teams on behalf of the Institute for Futures Research at the University of Stellenbosch. He is a strategic adviser to numerous business leaders.
