• During my time at Luxtera, I had to come up with the mechanical design of 2 styles of alignment machines for production.• One was to align an 8 channel single mode FA to Luxtera photonic chip, the other was to align a laser to the same chip. • I also had to build a wide array of fixtures for our Molex production plant in GDL, MX, to facilitate the assembly of the products.

• Designed and built lab automated robotic integrated storage-retrieval and imaging system.• Extensive use of SolidWorks sheet metal features to successfully develop some state of the art stainless steel cassettes and design a low cost polycarbonate “snap-in” shelves now being produced by thousands with a four cavity mold.• I also had to design my own enclosures or “skins” for these machines and make sure that they were not only robust and well thought of, but also did ended-up looking like our industrial designer original art work.
