• During my time at Luxtera, I had to come up with the mechanical design of 2 styles of alignment machines for production.• One was to align an 8 channel single mode FA to Luxtera photonic chip, the other was to align a laser to the same chip. • I also had to build a wide array of fixtures for our Molex production plant in GDL, MX, to facilitate the assembly of the products.

Continuous improvement of an existing Automated line, starting from a partially operational piece of equipment to a fully validated machine, producing for the first time sellable product. • Generated a part transfer mechanism, eliminating the need for operator handling of the devices on the manual lines and complicated transfer schemes involving costly multi-up stations difficult to fine tune and keep operational on the automated equipment.• Auto-Labeler and in-line Label inspection/reject prototype.• Integration of a “Follower” mechanism with a micro fluidic dispense head to insure a constant gap between the needle and the surface being dispensed over• Manufacturing lines upgrades such as high accuracy locating nest

• Designed and built lab automated robotic integrated storage-retrieval and imaging system.• Extensive use of SolidWorks sheet metal features to successfully develop some state of the art stainless steel cassettes and design a low cost polycarbonate “snap-in” shelves now being produced by thousands with a four cavity mold.• I also had to design my own enclosures or “skins” for these machines and make sure that they were not only robust and well thought of, but also did ended-up looking like our industrial designer original art work.

• Supervising a small group of engineers developing a high volume production line for medical tubing sets.• Interfaced with customer regarding requirements of process, design, etc…etc…• Successfully designed, documented and implemented several of the most challenging stations on the above mentioned production line.• Developed a 60ppm needle-feeder with interchangeable cartridges for 3 types of needles.• Integration of a conveyor system (FlexLink) with an accumulator or buffer and a pallet transfer mechanism
