I am a research assistant in Dr. Samer Gozem's computational photochemistry laboratory. My research focuses on using photochemistry to run ground and excited-state calculations on high-performance computing clusters. My research focuses on using photochemistry to run ground and excited-state calculations on high-performance computing clusters. My major project is the development of electrostatic tuning maps (ETMs), intuitive tools that use density functional theory calculations to visualize environmental effects on molecular properties, and website development for public access to the construction of these maps. My other project focuses on determining the change in fluorescence of NBDs (nitrobenzo[c][1,2,5]oxadiazole fluorophores) to be used as boronate sensors. Show less

My main role as a chemistry TA is to teach students the fundamentals and applications of physical and chemical topics. Throughout this role, I have taught students lab techniques, including but not limited to: extractions, quantification, and compound identification. I hold office hours to assist students with homework, quizzes, and exam preparation.
