•Procuring every requirement for the daily upkeep and maintenance of the stud within a weekly budget of R500.00. This includes materials needed to resolve maintenance issues that were not anticipated (daily wear and tear), daily and weekly consumables, and any other approved miscellaneous purchases that exceed the weekly budget. The weekly expenses were reconciled at the end of each week.•Planning and supervising all projects on the farm. Finding solutions to problems that arise around the farm and planning to build new infrastructure that the owner wants; planning the best way to overcome these problems, consulting relevant service providers; drawing up a bill of materials needed for the project including estimated cost of the project, estimated time to complete project; once approved by the owner sourcing and procuring materials needed for the project or working with service providers to implement the project: then implementing the solution through workplans for the three farm staff in my team. •Planning and implementing weekly workplans for the three farm workers in my team. Planning a day-to-day list of work for each farm worker around the farm this included routine duties along with other non-routine duties and unexpected/unplanned work. •Attending to all general maintenance requirements of the stud from replacing light fittings, to installing day-night sensors for spotlights; from reattaching broken fence wires, to replacing roof sheeting, from replacing burst waterpipes, replacing taps and plumbing fittings, to installing new water pipes.•Assisting the stud manageress and stud owner when and where required. •Planning weekly rosters for eight staff members which includes working on weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis. Ensuring there is always a minimum number of senior workers on duty over weekends and public holidays. Planning the mandatory leave with a minimal disturbance to work that needs to be done.

•Keeping the Health and Safety files complete and up to date for annual audits achieving an 85% compliance for the 2019 Audit.•Keeping staff informed of and enforcing were needed the health and safety regulations and policies.•Hosting regular meetings with the appointed Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Representatives and relaying concerns brought up to management.•As fire marshal I planned and implemented seasonal controlled fire breaks around the property and dealt with all fire emergencies on and around the property.•As the first aid coordinator I dealt with all first aid emergencies and was responsible for keeping all nine first aid boxes on the property stocked.•Planning and implementing annual training of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) representatives, Fire marshals and fighters, First Aiders, and Emergency planning.

•The health and safety of eighteen horses in my care including annual immunizations (AHS), dental and hoof care, deworming schedule, condition through their diets and workload, daily diets, first aid and veterinary requirements, daily grooming of horses before each ride that they do.•Keeping all tack and equipment in good and safe working condition ensuring that worn out or damaged tack is replaced and not used. Keeping saddles in top condition through annual checks by professionals. Monthly cleaning and checks of saddles and bridles and checks before and after each ride.•Ensuring the safety of guests partaking in horse and pony rides through safety inductions before horse rides, keeping riding helmets clean and replacing damaged or unsafe helmets, keeping riders controlled and in an orderly manner during outrides ensuring that they do not put themselves or other riders at risk through their actions.•Ordering stable consumables including horse feed, cleaning, and maintenance materials.•Staff rosters for two stable grooms giving them one day off a week when business is not busy and capturing timesheets.•Ensuring that daily duties were performed e.g., Feeding horses, cleaning, and maintaining stables and stable yard.•Night-time duty manager of the resort on a rotational basis which entailed being the point of contact for all after hour problems, ensuring the successful turnover of after hour customer complaints into compliments and notifying management team of them, assisting team members in all departments when help is needed, working against a checklist to verify that all departments have completed their assigned duties.•Assisting the entertainment manager run the entertainment program such as leading the guided hikes twice a day, running teambuilding activities, greeting guest upon arrival, and assisting them with check in.

•Ensuring the safety of guests partaking in horse and pony rides through safety inductions before horse rides, keeping riding helmets clean, keeping riders controlled and in an orderly manner during outrides ensuring that they do not put themselves or other riders at risk through their actions. •Ensuring horses were groomed and tacked up and ready before horse rides.•Ensuring that daily duties were performed e.g., Feeding horses, cleaning, and maintaining stables and stable yard.•Reporting to Manger- consumables and feed that needed to be ordered, time and attendance registers, maintenance requirements, and any other stable requirements.
