In my role as Head of Mining Services, I lead the mining unit by aligning our strategies with the overarching business unit objectives. I leverage my mining expertise to address client challenges, maintain robust client relationships, and manage a talented team while ensuring efficient daily operations, compliance, budget control, and quality assurance. I am responsible for identifying challenges and recommending effective solutions to the Business Unit Head.

As the Technical Services Manager I am responsible for leading the Technical Services Department which comprises of mine planning, survey, ventilation, geology and rock engineering. I have established and implemented numerous procedures, systems, reporting and protocols to ensure that maximum grade can be constantly achieved in a safe and practical manner. In addition to this I focused on ensuring that the loop is closed in all reports and establishing a culture of accountability. There is a proven track record of the aforementioned.I am furthermore responsible for ensuring that the mining operations are planned, scheduled and supported in a manner which maximizes the value of the Mineral Resource. Consideration is given to safety, risk, accountability and continuous improvement.

As the Chief Mine Planner I am responsible for the planning of three underground shafts and all aspects relating to mineral reserve optimisation and all aspects of planning. I manage and guide my team to ensure that integrity, quality, accuracy and effective communication is maintained.I am currently the competent person responsible for declaration of the BRMO mineral reserves as per SAMREC requirements.I am furthermore responsible for optimising the planning department (strategies and resources). I have added a lot of value by incorporating practicality into the mine design and scheduling, and providing the production sections with improved and enhanced mining plans that can effectively assist them with their in-section planning.

As an HOD I constantly liaised between the geotechnical, geology, ventilation, engineering, planning and metallurgical departments to ensure that my team can successfully deliver practical mine designs, layouts and schedules for the various operations or projects.As a mining engineer, I ensured that my projects incorporated the necessary risk assessment, optimization, practicality, benchmarking and buy in from the project or operational teams. I have successfully operated in a multi cultural environment even where the language barrier proved to be challenging. I have furthermore successfully compiled the final documentation for projects and presented the results to senior level management.Responsibilities included but were not limited to the planning of ore reserves, reserve reconciliation, modifying factor identification, generation of mine design criteria, basic grade equations, risk assessments, cycle times and basic financial modelling – OPEX, CAPEX, etc.As mining engineer most of my time was dedicated to mine design and scheduling, which included operational planning, project planning and scenario planning.My responsibilities included but were not limited to the following: o Risk Assessmentso Identification of the applicable modifying factors, reserve calculations as well as resource to reserve conversionso Technical and complex mine designs and schedules which required practical solutions;o Strategic and scenario planning on project and operational level;o Compiling BME, BGE, design- and scheduling criteria;o Cycle time calculations, efficiencies and benchmarking;o Producing mine designs and schedule for scenarios, inclusive of the production-, labour- and fleet profiles. Where desired additional profiles are created;o Assisting mining operations with their operational and strategic planning inclusive of schedules and scenarios for 5 Year, 10 year and Life of Mine;o Mining method trade-off studies and value engineering;

I refined my abilities in underground mine design, scheduling and software manipulation as well as enhancing my project experience on a variety of ore bodies and commodities. My responsibilities included but were not limited to the following: o Technical and complex mine design and schedules for deep level mining which required practical solutions;o A Variety of Desktop, Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies which required detailed mine designs and schedules. Furthermore all Studies required a detailed breakdown into a 5 Year, 10 year and Life of mine breakdown;o Value engineering;o Assisting mining operations with their operational and strategic planning;o Facilitate in house training on Mine2-4D and EPS.

I developed skills as a consulting engineer in a multi-cultural environment and acquired valuable skills and knowledge of mining software. I further gained operational and project experience on a variety of commodities and ore bodies in the underground environment.My responsibilities included but were not limited to the following:o Converting the mine plans into the software suite Mine2-4D for various operations;o Producing mine designs and schedules for short, medium and long term strategies;o Developing mine designs and schedules that allows for optimum scenario planning on intermediate, deep and ultra-deep level mining;o Facilitate software training local and international.

I enrolled for the B-Tech Mining Engineering program at the University of Johannesburg as a full time student. The program was structured in such a way that I had to study for a full year, then work on an operation for a full year, and then complete the final two years of study, with the requirement that during study breaks I had to work at the operation.During this period I obtained my blasting certificate and worked as a miner in development, remedial support, production loading, production action and groundhandling. After proving my abilities to lead a team I advanced to the next level of supervision. I worked as a shiftboss in development and remedial support, production loading, production action and ground handling sections.I joined to the Planning Department as a mining engineer where my responsibilities included but were not limited to the following:o Short, medium and long term planning for the mine;o Initiation of projects of strategic nature that could impact on the Life of Mine and profitability of operation;o Optimisation of notional capacity of the mine (maximising output of mine) by planning around bottle necks within current system;o Responsible for managing the project where parts of the crown pillars was extracted on the mined out levels;o Conceptual Study for extension of the mining operations below the 49 level horizon to the 52 level horizon.
