Psychology Student at the University of Manchester, looking for experience to build a career in therapy, with a special interest in relation therapy and child therapy. I have always been interested in psychopathology, but as I grew older I found myself more and more interested in the effects of psychopathology on the immediate family and friends of the sufferer. For example, if an individual is diagnosed with PTSD, their partner's mental health and behaviour may also change. This has lead to my special interest in relationship therapy, as I want to help couples adapt and understand a mental health diagnosis and show them that their relationship can not only persevere but also improve. I am also very passionate about child psychology and development, and I enjoy reading articles and books its importance and complexities. Similar my interest in relationship therapy, I would use a career in child psychology to help children not only understand their own mental health but also their family members. I have had work experience in the form of an online course, which provided a introduction to the career of therapy and I plan to pursue more work experience in the summer. I am looking for work experience in the fields of clinical psychology, with a preference for in-person work experience either shadowing or working for an industry professional. Furthermore, I am able to speak fluent French, so I am also open to foreign opportunities for work experience.
