I manage a team of Desktop Assessors to assist in decision making of short term insurance claims. I audit each claim that comes through from the claims call center to appoint the Desktop Assessor on claims that needs validation to confirm if it is a valid claim or not.I pull daily reports on outstanding unfinalized claims and give current feedback on these claims to the specific Desktop Assessor appointed on the claim. Once a claim is ready for approval by the Desktop Assessor, it 1st has to come through me to check if all basic validations was done, if any issues was noted on the claim and then to decide if the claim will be rejected or settled accordingly. I deal with complaints from clients if this complaint can not be resolved by the particular Desktop Assessor.

• Validating home contents and all risk claims to obtain if the contract is in place and if it is a legitimate or fraudulent claim. • Validating vehicle accident, hi-jacking and theft claims, to determine driving under the influence, exceeding national speed limits and if the correct regular driver were noted.• Liaising with South African Police Services, security companies and service providers.• Taking full ownership of the claim from it being referred by claims call centre until finalising it with the client.• Inform client if correctly insured by compiling an inventory of his house contents.• Stay up to date with product knowledge on new products on the market relating to home contents claim. • Assist with claims procedure training in the claims call centre.• Acting as team manager on several occasions.
