The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership who is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Removes clutter and ensures safe, clear egress to emergency exits. Responsible for Customer safety including accident prevention, accident reporting and emergency procedures. Tests all fire alarm systems as scheduled. Responds to after-hours alarms when requested.Customer Service: Treats all Customers, Associates, and other leaders with respect. Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times. Recognizes Associates using Company recognition programs.

As a Front end supervisor (FES), I oversaw cashiers, baggers, and other employees within the checkout area of a store to ensure that excellent customer service is provided to customers. I often administered training to employees, hence, leadership and public speaking skills were crucial in this position. I equally offered assistance whenever possible in the checkout area, and cashiering duties may occasionally be necessary. I made sure that all safety precautions were observed at all times, and prepared performance evaluations of employees, schedule their shifts and assigned duties. As a FES, I answered phone calls to the store and ensured that cashiers were operating the cash registers accurately and efficiently and performing age-verification when necessary. This is a multi-million dollar facility that should serve a wide range of community groups and individuals.
