As a recent graduate of the Ateneo School of Medicine’s dual degree MD-MBA program, I fulfilled my lifelong dream of becoming a doctor. In October 2024, I successfully passed the Philippine medical license exam on my first attempt, overcoming significant personal challenges along the way.Looking ahead, I am exploring diverse career paths in public health, corporate roles within the pharmaceutical industry, and residency training programs in emergency medicine and internal medicine.Most recently, I completed my medical internship at The Medical City Hospital and Ospital ng Makati, where I honed my clinical skills and deepened my passion for research and scientific communication. In 2021, I was honored with the "Best Presentation" award at the ASMPH Research Symposium for my work titled, "A Feminism-Based Approach to Analyzing Factors Affecting Anxiety and Overall Perceived Readiness for Clerkship among ASMPH YL9 Female Medical Students."Before embarking on my medical career, I earned a BA in Mathematics from New York University in 2017, where I integrated pre-med requirements into my curriculum and made the Dean’s List. During my undergraduate studies, I served as a research assistant in the NYU Chemistry Department, focusing on DNA nanotechnology, and worked as a Calculus I grader for the Mathematics Department. Additionally, I gained valuable experience as a research assistant in the Neurology Department at the Bellevue-NYU Langone Health Center.Coming from a working-class background, my parents instilled in me a strong work ethic and professionalism. I firmly believe that "no work is too big or too small," and my diverse experiences across scientific research, healthcare, education, sales, tourism, and hospitality reflect this can-do attitude.My ambition is to contribute to a major multinational organization, whether in humanitarian efforts (such as the United Nations, Doctors Without Borders, or the Red Cross), the pharmaceutical industry, or clinical medicine. Wherever my journey takes me, I will bring my dedication, diverse experience, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
