About Jacques Van Rooyen

I am a young, passionate and hardworking Civil Engineering (BEng MEng) graduate from Stellenbosch University. I have a keen interest in the mechanical behaviour of complex structural systems, bridge design, bridge traffic loading; particularly probabilistic derived bridge load models for probabilistic design. I have an extremely strong passion for Bridge Engineering in particular, but I also find it stimulating to continuously learn and improve my knowledge in other fields of structural engineering, and to extend my knowledge and understanding in other disciplines. Besides Structural- and Bridge Engineering, I also have a strong interest in Water Resources Engineering and Catchment Hydrology, particularly conjunctive stochastic modelling.
