About Jacqui Caust

I was admitted to practice in 2010 and have worked almost exclusively in criminal law - in both the private and public sector. I am an Accredited Criminal Law Specialist with extensive experience in all subtypes of summary and indictable crime, in all jurisdictions and all hearing types.My focus has been on serious indictable crimes including complex frauds, large scale drug trafficking and importations, historical and high profile sexual offences, Serious Offenders Orders and offences against the person including murder. I have a keen sense of justice and this is what motivates me to strive for fair and proper outcomes for my clients. Some of which have recently included securing interstate bail for my client charged with murder, trial acquittal for a client charged with intentionally causing serious injury, avoiding an immediate term of imprisonment for a client charged with large scale fraud and avoidance of jail for clients charged with trafficking. I appear in all hearings in the Magistrates’ Court and in all preliminary hearings, applications, pleas and sentencing hearings in the County and Supreme Courts. I instructed in the High Court in Likiardopoulos v The Queen.I enjoy mentoring young lawyers and contributing to the profession in my role as Vice President of Criminal Law Mums and a member of the LIV Criminal Law Committee.
