• Draft, review, and negotiate research, consultancy, and service contracts (among others) to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.• Provide expert advice, support, and guidance on a broad range of contracts and commercial matters at Curtin University.• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth contract negotiations and resolve any issues efficiently.

• Research data management• Project genotyping management (sheep and beef), including DNA Parentage problem solving• Training and support of Genetics Systems Technicians• Provide expertise and support for day-to-day operation of genetic evaluation and evaluation systems• Assist in the testing of genetic evaluation or system updates• Trouble shoot/investigate issues or questions related to genetic evaluations• Data Request Management• Effective management of relationships with key stakeholders; the evaluation technical team, bureaus, laboratories, and breeders• Creation and updating of supporting documentation, including, SOPs, describing genetic evaluation processes and policies• Support the development of next generation tools• Extensive use of Microsoft programs, including Excel, Access, SSMS and Outlook• Oversight of Animal Ethics applications and reporting

• Perform duties of a Key Technical Person (IANZ Accreditation)• Primary responsibility for data integrity on genotype and LIMS databases• Data extraction from in house and stakeholders’ databases, i.e. SIL• Collation and management of data files required for analysis• Use of statistical programs for pedigree analysis on commercial samples of all species• Writing, editing and reviewing of Standard Operating Procedures• Schedule and oversee laboratory activities to ensure efficient processing of samples• Oversee Customer Services staff• Improvement and implementation of processes and procedures• Lead new projects as required• Extensive use of Microsoft programs, including Excel, Access and Outlook• Primary point of contact for national and international customers and stakeholders• MPI Recording• Invoicing• Taking laboratory tours• Training staff in line with SOPs
