About Jacqui Feeney

Storytelling is an art. But giving a voice to the unheard and unexpected? That is a revolution. At Screen Queensland, I am on a mission to elevate, amplify and shape authentic narratives that capture our state's rich past and its evolution into a global hub of production, innovation and technology with a character all of its own. I've built my career on the power and impact of storytelling—from my first 'real job' at the ABC to my executive and board roles, which include Foxtel, Documentary Australia, and Sydney Film Festival. And now, as we gear up towards the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics while transitioning into a creator economy, the future excites me more than ever! Always curious, I lead with purpose, and can scale the biggest and best while also supporting emerging talent, finding joy in building connected communities and brokering meaningful conversations. I am the spark that lights the fire—I bring together diverse voices, find alignment, and propel the vision forward. Bridging varied creative, technology and government stakeholder views is my happy place. Fascinated by new perspectives, at Screen Queensland I’m leveraging my natural organisational and strategic skills and knack for the numbers to lift capacity and connect creators with those who can make it all happen. I'm future-focused, always finding inspiration at the crossroads of technology and creativity. My journey—marked by a BA in Literature, Film, and Mass Communication, a Grad Dip in Business Administration, and accolades from the Australian Institute of Company Directors—has always been one of continuous learning and growth. These qualities are core to who I am, and it’s what I inspire in those around me.Complex challenges energise me. I see technology as a force for good, something particularly valuable in the pursuit of elevating the untold stories of our First Nations people.Leading an organisation that I see as pivotal to our continued growth and evolution I'm dedicated to unlocking the talents of creatives with a mission.
