As Head of Development for Darwin Holiday and Leisure Parks I was responsible for every aspect of the Development. From the selection of the accommodation, working with the lodge and caravan manufacturers to bespoke the units to a high standard, specific to the needs of the end user customer, through to ensuring the effective delivery of all Lodges and organising and monitoring the fitting of the decking. I was responsible for the negotiation of Linen contracts, and Hot Tub Contract and the purchase through to delivery of all inventory not only for the Hire Fleet but also for the Main building complex. I used my proven negotiation skills to ensure we achieved the very best quality products for the best possible prices. I also provided the link between the building and construction contractors and the operational Darwin team. Significant time was given to building long and lasting working relationships with all suppliers and contractors and encouraging a team thinking ethos. Cheddar Woods Resort and Spa and Mullion Cove Beach Retreat were the first 2 parks completed and currently are wowing guests with fantastic reviews on Trip Advisor.Piran Meadows, Woodside Beach and Beach Cove are all under construction. All of the lodges and caravans for these parks are bespoke, with interiors designed to fit the overall feel of each park, working closely with the manufacturers, ABI, Cambrian, Prestige and Pathfinder to deliver exciting and innovative accommodation.
