During my time in this role, I gained experience in the following areas:• Customer Due Diligence (CDD): Verifies the identity and background of new and existing customers to assess the level of risk they pose. This involves collecting and reviewing various documents and information, such as identification, proof of address, source of funds, and the purpose of the relationship.• Investigations: Where I identified potential suspicious activities, I conducted in-depth investigations to understand the nature of the transactions, the parties involved, and the potential risks. I would have escalated the outcomes of such Investigations to MLROs.• Risk Assessment: In this role, I would have completed a risk assessment on potential clients and customers to see if onboarding would pose any risk to the company, its funds or its reputation.• Suspicious Activity Reporting: Where I identified behaviours that raise suspicion, I would contact the relevant MLRO and if necessary assist in filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to report to the appropriate regulatory authorities.
